A bit about our client...
Our client is a growing business that is investing in its finance function as it continues to scale. They are focused on improving controls, reporting and processes across the company. The Finance Manager will play an important role in making sure the business has accurate, timely financial information, while also helping to improve how finance operates day to day.
The role
Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on and varied role, covering both day-to-day financial control and wider projects. You will take ownership of the month-end and management accounting processes, oversee key financial processes, support budgeting and forecasting, and help strengthen controls across the business.
About you
You will be a proactive finance professional with a strong background in financial control and management accounting. You will be comfortable working independently and with autonomy, but equally be happy working with colleagues across the wider business. The environment is fast-paced and will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and improving the way things are done. You will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
As the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Producing detailed management accounts with supporting commentary and analysis
- Developing financial schedules and analysis to enhance management information
- Overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations, including outsourced transactional support
- Ensuring accuracy of data entry and completeness of journalled transactions
- Driving improvements to internal controls and financial processes
- Supporting the CFO with ad‑hoc project work
- Assisting with financial planning and analysis, including budgets, forecasts and progress reporting
- Managing financial risk and ensuring robust controls and systems
- Leading monthly reporting processes and management account delivery
- Overseeing capital management, liquidity, working capital and inventory controls
- Managing compliance areas including VAT, payroll, statutory accounts and R&D
- Providing financial insight and analysis to other departments
- Engaging with auditors, tax advisors, investors and regulatory bodies

- £50,000 - £60,000 base salary DOE
