Citadel Source are pleased to be working exclusively with an established, PE-backed organisation in Bristol that is going through a significant period of growth, to recruit an experienced Management / Financial Accountant into their finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a growing business at an exciting stage of its development. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of core financial operations, manage and develop two finance team members, and play a key role in improving processes and connecting finance with the wider business.
About you
You are an experienced finance professional with strong practical accounting knowledge and ideally AAT Level 4 qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA. You’ll have good experience across transactional and financial accounting, with a strong understanding of reconciliations, month-end processes and financial controls.
As a Management / Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and develop two Finance Assistants across sales and purchase ledger
- Take ownership of the sales and purchase ledger close process and month-end deadlines
- Ensure accurate financial data to support reporting and decision-making
- Review and improve finance processes, including order-to-invoice and purchase-to-pay
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations covering fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, bank accounts, payroll and intercompany transactions
- Support fixed asset management and group revaluations
- Support VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions and US sales tax reporting
- Oversee customer and internal finance queries, acting as a point of escalation
- Complete daily bank and payment partner reconciliations
- Support year-end close and audit preparation
- Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects, including potential accounting system implementation
What the client is looking for
- Strong practical finance and accounting experience
- AAT Level 4 qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Experience across financial accounting, reconciliations and transactional finance
- Experience managing or developing others
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good Excel skills, including SUMIFs, Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Proactive, collaborative and focused on continuous improvement
What the client has to offer
- Annual salary of £35,000 - £45,000
- Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the Bristol office
