Citadel Source are delighted to be recruiting for a leading services business in the South West for the recruitment of a high quality, technically astute Group Finance Director to work flexibly in their headquarters, based locally. Citadel’s Source’s client is a dynamic, global business with huge credibility within their field.
About you
The successful candidate will have a technical accounting background and be a strong leader, with demonstrable experience of working cross-functionally with other senior leaders and of building and managing a high-performing finance function. They will be collaborative by nature and enjoy sharing information, as well as coaching and developing the team, including a strong Group Financial Controller.
The role
This is a critical role within the organisation, responsible for managing key external partnerships, including external auditors and banking relationships. The role will play a central part in the leadership of both the finance team and the wider business, ensuring rigour in the monthly, periodic, and annual accounts, driving continuous improvement in the control environment, and supporting the ongoing delivery of a large, centrally based finance team. It will also contribute to multiple finance and business transformation projects.
As the Group Finance Director, your role will include, but not be limited to:

Preparation of the group and subsidiary financial statements, ensuring compliance as appropriate with both UK and International Accounting Standards

Lead day-to-day banking relationships, including treasury management

Preparation of periodic financial reporting pack

Manage and review the group's monthly consolidations and subsequent month-end management reporting, variance analysis and ratios

Partner with the wider business on improving financial process and control, and improving the budgeting and forecasting exercise

Overall responsibility for financial operations, including: management accounts, period end balance sheet reconciliation process, cash management, expense management, accounts receivable, purchase ledger and fixed asset accounting

Manage relationships with tax advisors, including timely filing of corporation tax returns and management of the capital allowances process

Maintaining and further developing the internal control environment to ensure that financial control processes remain appropriate as the business continues to scale

Lead the Group finance team in collaboration with your colleagues in the wider DBU’s

Lead finance transformation projects
