The role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast-growing FMCG organisation headquartered in Central Bristol. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial control, driving performance, and supporting the delivery of the company’s strategic objectives in a fast-paced environment. Working as part of the SMT, you will lead the management accounting, reporting, and control for the Finance function, ensuring accurate and insightful reporting, strong compliance, and the continual improvement of financial processes.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with demonstrable post-qualification experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or similar fast-paced environments. The role suits a strong leader who thrives in a collaborative setting, with excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and a passion for driving both accuracy and efficiency. You will have a proven track record of developing teams, improving processes, and delivering high-quality financial insight in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

  • Ensure the finance function is structured and resourced effectively to meet business needs
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the month-end close process and deliver high-quality management reporting with insightful variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks
  • Act as the key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
  • Coordinate the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting cycles, integrating detailed operational and commercial inputs.
  • Provide strategic financial insight to support decision-making across the business.
  • Partner with the Operations and FP&A teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
  • Lead or support key finance projects, including systems improvement, process automation, and performance enhancement initiatives

What the client offers

  • £75,000 – £85,000 per annum
  • Hybrid working
  • Opportunities for progression within a growing brand
