We are proud to be supporting an established, growing organisation in the search for a Finance Manager (Temporary). This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting business performance during a period of continued development and change.
The organisation operates across multiple business functions and delivers integrated solutions to a broad customer base. The Finance Manager will work closely with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams, providing insight, control, and challenge to support effective decision-making and robust financial management.
The role
This position will focus on managing financial performance and controls for a key operational division of the business, with responsibility for financial reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, and strengthening financial discipline across the function.
As an Interim Finance Manager, your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Owning and managing the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Leading year-end close activities, including preparation of accounts and audit support
- Preparing management accounts, including detailed commentary and variance analysis
- Partnering with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams to provide clear, actionable financial insight
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and performance enhancement
- Challenging assumptions and supporting data-driven decision-making
- Improving management information and reporting for senior finance stakeholders
- Developing KPI packs to monitor performance and support divisional objectives
- Managing stock ageing and ensuring appropriate provisions
- Driving efficiencies within cost control and process improvement
- Contributing to cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives
What we’re looking for
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience owning month-end and year-end close processes
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and supporting statutory accounts and audits
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced or changing environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior non-financial leaders
- Excellent communication skills, able to present financial information clearly and confidently
- High standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and financial control
- Excellent planning and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experience with Sage (desirable)
