Job Description
Citadel Source is delighted to partner with a leading Bristol-based business to support the recruitment of their new FP&A Analyst.
A bit about our client...
Our client is a large, complex organisation undergoing a significant period of transformation across its Finance function. With a growing and evolving FP&A team, the business is focused on improving the quality, consistency and depth of its financial reporting and insight. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the organisation is investing in its data, systems and reporting capabilities, with a multi-year roadmap to modernise processes, enhance analytics and drive better decision-making. This role will play a key part in that journey.
The role
This is a high-impact FP&A position, sitting at the centre of financial performance reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will take ownership of the monthly performance pack while helping to shift the function from static reporting towards more insightful, driver-led analysis. Alongside core reporting responsibilities, the role will support a broader transformation agenda, improving data quality, standardising reporting frameworks and increasing the use of automation and BI tools. There is a strong emphasis on adding value through insight, understanding the “why” behind the numbers, and supporting senior stakeholders with clear, actionable analysis.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong background in FP&A, financial analysis or management reporting within a corporate environment. You will have advanced Excel skills and be comfortable using tools such as Power BI, Power Query or SQL to work with large and complex datasets. You are highly analytical with a natural curiosity to understand the drivers behind financial performance, and you can translate detailed analysis into clear, meaningful insight. You will have experience producing structured monthly reporting with a strong focus on accuracy, control and continuous improvement. Confident and proactive, you are comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business, challenging assumptions where appropriate and communicating financial information in a clear and commercially relevant way. You are self-sufficient and well organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
As the FP&A Analyst, your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Owning the production and continuous improvement of the monthly Financial Performance Pack
- Delivering clear commentary on financial performance, including variance analysis and key drivers
- Supporting the move from static reporting to more insightful, value-add analysis
- Partnering with stakeholders to provide meaningful insight for senior leadership and Board reporting
- Supporting scenario planning and “what if” analysis
- Helping define what good performance looks like through improved metrics and reporting
- Contributing to the standardisation and simplification of reporting processes
- Supporting a broader finance transformation programme, particularly around data and systems
- Improving data accessibility and working with multiple systems to enhance reporting capability
- Developing dashboards and visualisations to better communicate financial information
What the client has to offer
- £55,000 DOE plus discretionary annual bonus
- 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to buy and sell additional days
- Generous non-contributory pension
- Private medical insurance, life assurance and wellbeing support
- Access to a wide range of learning and development resources
- Competitive family-friendly policies
- Opportunities to support community and volunteering initiatives
- Flexible benefits including travel, retail and lifestyle discounts
- Additional optional benefits such as critical illness cover, dental plans and gym discounts
