You will own the monthly close, statutory reporting, cash management and core controls, while partnering closely with project and commercial teams. This is a true “build” role - shaping processes, systems and reporting as the business scales from c.£10m towards £50m+ turnover.

As a Senior Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead the redesign of finance processes and introduce AI‑driven automation to routine tasks
  • Opportunity to grow with a high-growth business, gain exposure to strategic projects, future international expansion and diversified group structures

  • Own the monthly management‑accounts close, including accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance‑sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare FRS 102 statutory accounts and lead the annual external audit relationship
  • Apply and maintain percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition on long‑term construction contracts
  • Strengthen the control environment and month‑end governance
  • Produce cash‑flow forecasts and manage payroll and working capital
  • Mentor the junior members of the finance team

What the client is looking for

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven ownership of month‑end and FRS 102 statutory accounts
  • Strong systems skills; ERP experience (NetSuite advantageous)
  • Genuine enthusiasm for using AI tools to automate and improve processes
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry
  • Clear communicator able to partner with commercial and operational colleagues
  • High attention to detail, reliability and ability to deliver to tight deadlines

What the client has to offer

  • Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experience
  • Bristol‑based role, 3 days per week in the office
  • Opportunity to work directly with a hands‑on CFO
  • Significant progression potential as the business scales beyond £50m turnover
  • Chance to help build a modern, AI‑enabled finance function from the ground up
