Job Description
Citadel Source is delighted to be partnering with a growing organisation to recruit their new Head of FP&A.
A bit about our client...
Our client is an SME with a clear focus on sustainable growth and long-term performance. As the organisation continues to evolve, the finance team is placing greater emphasis on commercial insight, planning and helping the wider business make better decisions. You will play an important role in helping the business understand key performance indicators, improvement opportunities and what the future may look like.
The role
This is a broad FP&A role with strong visibility across the business. You’ll own the core planning and forecasting cycle, while providing the analysis and insight senior stakeholders need to make informed decisions. Working closely with a vast stakeholder network, you’ll bring together financial, operational and market data to understand overall performance. You’ll also use analysis and modelling to highlight risks and opportunities, support resource decisions and help the business plan with greater confidence and accuracy.
About you
We’re looking for a qualified finance professional with a strong background in FP&A or commercial finance. You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and using your judgement to provide a different perspective where needed. You’ll be curious, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to look beyond the numbers to understand what’s really driving the business. Most importantly, you’ll want to make a meaningful contribution to how FP&A supports both finance and the wider organisation.
As the Head of FP&A, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Own and coordinate key annual planning, budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning cycles
- Build and maintain financial models that connect operational activity with expected financial outcomes
- Evaluate different potential outcomes through scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and changes in key business assumptions
- Monitor underlying performance and identify trends that could affect future results
- Produce meaningful analysis that helps senior stakeholders understand what is driving performance and where intervention may be required
- Provide financial input into strategic projects, investment proposals and commercial business cases
- Highlight potential financial and operational exposures, whilst helping stakeholders develop appropriate responses
- Work closely with leaders across the organisation to improve financial understanding, accountability and decision-making
- Act as a constructive challenger, testing assumptions and encouraging decisions to be supported by robust evidence
- Develop concise management information, presentations and commentary for senior audiences
- Translate complex analysis into clear conclusions, commercial implications and recommended actions
- Incorporate relevant external data, comparative information and market trends where this adds value to business planning
- Help enhance the consistency and effectiveness of FP&A processes, reporting and governance
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve existing finance processes
- Contribute to the continued development of the finance function's analytical and planning capabilities
What the client has to offer
